WIRE THREAD INSERT
Featured Item
Our Wire thread Inserts' purpose is to act as a thread strengthening and fastening device when placed in softer core materials. It is also able to provide the material with heat, corrosion and wear resistance while providing it with high-performance internal thread.
Here at Hewlett International, we believe that having a wide range of options to choose from is beneficial for our customers. This is why our Wire Thread Inserts do come with 5 standard types of lengths that can be chosen to be customized and manufactured to each individual customer's needs like pitches, materials and even the length.
Our company provides 2 kinds of insert groups which are the Free Running Inserts and the Screw Locking Inserts.
Free Running Inserts - Free Running Inserts give off a spring-like appearance as it was wounded into a helical spiral from our Austenitic Stainless Steel Wire.
Once fitted, their position is maintained by the action of radial pressure between their coils and flanks of the tapped hole. The pressure exists as its free diameter is larger than the installed diameter.
Benefits of Free Running Inserts:
1) Improved Resistance to heat, corrosion and stripping
2) Increased bolt tension under a vibrating environment.
3) Minimum space and tools required for installation.
4) Simplified locking system.
5) Provides uniform load and stress distribution.
Screw Locking Inserts
Screw Locking Inserts have all of the benefits of Free Running Inserts. However, it comes with the additional security of prevailing locking torque. This is possible by the actions of one or more polygonal grip coils that are positioned within the insert length. Each of these coils consists of a number of tangential locking chords that protrude inside the minor diameter of the normal free-running insert.
Recommended for applications that are in high vibration and impact environments.
